According to the Wall Street Journal, OpenAI has invested in an artificial intelligence startup called Isara, founded by two 23-year-old researchers to develop software that can coordinate the collaborative work of thousands of AI agents to solve complex issues in finance, biotechnology and other fields. Isara recently completed a US$94 million financing at a US$650 million valuation, with investors including Michael Ovitz and Stanley Druckenmiller, with OpenAI participating. The founders of Isara co-published an academic paper in June last year, proposing the idea of improving policy formulation through AI system collaboration. The company has recruited about 12 researchers from companies such as Google, Meta and OpenAI. The company plans to first sell software for predictive modeling to investment institutions and has demonstrated the ability to coordinate about 2000 AI agents to forecast gold prices.
