According to Decrypt, India's Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested Mumbai resident Sunil Nellathu Ramakrishnan, accusing him of being a core figure in a transnational trafficking network and lured many Indians to a cryptographic fraud park in the Myowadi region of Myanmar. After the victims were transported from Delhi to Bangkok under the name of legal work, they were transferred to fraud parks such as KKPark, forced to engage in pig-killing fraud and encryption investment fraud, and suffered illegal detention and physical abuse. The agency said it successfully targeted and arrested Ramakrishnan through intelligence provided by Indian victims who escaped and were repatriated from the park last year. Interpol has classified fraud park networks as a transnational criminal threat, affecting victims in more than 60 countries. The United States has previously frozen more than US$580 million in related crypto-assets, and a "pig killing plate" organizer was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
