According to market news, Ethereum Layer2 network Polygon has proposed a new fee model proposal PIP-85, which aims to reverse the decline of its native token POL by more than 60% in the past year and deal with competition from Base and Arbitrum. The proposal will reallocate 50% of priority fee income to online verifiers and consignors, and adjust the distribution method of verifier rewards from pledge size to contribution-based performance. Of the remaining validator pool, 75% will be allocated based on contribution rather than pledge size, and 25% will still be allocated based on existing pledge weights. The author mentioned in the proposal that implementing the proposal does not require any direct on-chain changes.
