LayerZero connects to the institutional blockchain Canton to open up cross-chain channels for traditional financial assets
Cross-chain protocol LayerZero announced its integration with Canton, the enterprise-oriented blockchain, becoming Canton's first interoperability protocol. Traditional financial institutions can now use LayerZero to route tokenized assets on Canton-including securities, digital bonds and stocks-to more than 165 public chains, while retaining compliance and confidentiality requirements.<br />
In addition, investors can use stablecoins on external public chains to directly subscribe for Canton's tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), and Canton's native tokenized tools can also be transferred to other ecosystems for secondary market transactions. Canton handles more than $350 billion in U.S. Treasury repo transactions per day. LayerZero has previously partnered with DTCC and Centrfuge, which covers nearly $861 million in tokenized U.S. debt.
