DavidSacks steps down as White House head of cryptocurrency affairs, key legislation still pending
On March 27, DavidSacks will step down as head of artificial intelligence and encryption affairs at the White House, ending a short but important term that has had a significant impact on U.S. digital asset policy. However, many major legislative tasks have not yet been completed. In an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, he said his term has officially ended as the 130-day term limit for special government employees has been reached. However, he will continue to be involved in government affairs, serving as co-chairman of the President's Science and Technology Advisory Council, providing advice on broader science and technology issues. While at the White House, Sacks played a central role in shaping the Donald Trump administration's crypto policy, including promoting market structure and stablecoin-related legislation, as well as supporting the establishment of a strategic U.S. Bitcoin reserve. He also advocated clearer rules for the regulation of digital assets and, like many in the Trump camp, criticized the JoeBiden administration's previous regulatory approach that relied too much on law enforcement.
