NYSE plans to integrate blockchain into existing market infrastructure rather than replacing traditional systems

According to CoinDesk, Jon Herrick, chief product officer of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), said at the Digital Assets Summit in New York that the NYSE is committed to integrating blockchain technology into existing market infrastructure rather than replacing traditional systems. Herrick emphasized that exchanges pursue interoperability and explore application scenarios of tokenized assets in existing systems, including real-time or near-real-time settlement, extended trading hours, etc.<br /> He also pointed out that existing mechanisms such as centralized clearing still have irreplaceable risk management value and need to be retained. Herrick predicts that the boundary between traditional assets and tokenized assets may gradually disappear over the next decade. In addition, NYSE parent company Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) made a strategic investment in crypto exchange OKX earlier this month, and the two parties will cooperate in the fields of crypto futures and tokenized stocks.
