Trump tells aides he wants to end Iran war as soon as possible
According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. President Trump recently told his aides that he hopes to avoid a protracted war in Iran and hopes to end the conflict in the next few weeks. The problem is that Trump has no easy way to end the war, and peace negotiations are still in their early stages. In discussions with external political allies, his attention has sometimes shifted to other topics, including the upcoming midterm elections and his decision to send immigration officials to airports and push Congress to pass legislative strategies to tighten voter eligibility rules.
A person familiar with the matter said Trump had told a colleague that the war had distracted him and prevented him from focusing on other priorities. Another person who spoke with Trump recently said the president seemed ready to turn his attention to the next big challenge, but Trump did not disclose what it was.
Some allies want him to shift his focus to Cuba, while his close advisers want him to focus on voters 'biggest concerns: the cost of living, exacerbated by the war. White House Press Secretary Levitt said: "President Trump is very good at handling multiple tasks at the same time and is able to deal with multiple challenges at the same time. The president is working all out to achieve his military goal of striking Iran. The president's only goal has always been victory."
