Aavev4 received nearly unanimous votes from the DAO to support Ethereum main network deployment and began to countdown
AaveDAO voted nearly unanimously on Monday to approve the deployment of Aave4, a new generation lending protocol, to the Ethereum main network. v4 still needs to pass subsequent formal voting. In the initial stage, conservative parameters and streamlined asset allocation will be adopted to prioritize ensuring security.
The advancement of v4 has previously caused controversy within the DAO. Two major contributors, BoredGhostsDeveloping and AaveChan Initiative, have announced that they will not seek renewal this year, in part because AaveLabs had proposed suspending v3 optimization work and adjusting lending parameters to promote user migration. Labs subsequently withdrew the proposal, promising not to force the migration.
Currently, Aave3 is still DeFi's largest loan agreement, with user deposits exceeding US$25 billion. Labs said that v4 uses a hub-and-spoke architecture to support a customized lending market without dividing liquidity, which will significantly increase the revenue potential of the DAO.
