Iran offers five conditions for a ceasefire, saying "accept the conditions first and then negotiate"
According to Kim Shi, citing Iranian government-controlled news television station PressTV, Iranian government officials issued a statement, which mentioned that Iran had responded negatively to the U.S. proposal and insisted that the war would only end under Iran's own terms and timetable.
The official, who knows details of the Iranian government, said Iran will not allow Trump to decide when the war ends. He also stressed Tehran's determination to continue to defend and deliver "heavy blows" to the enemy until its demands are met. The official outlined five specific conditions for Iran to agree to end the war, including a complete cessation of enemy "aggression and assassination" operations.
Establish specific mechanisms to ensure that war is not imposed on Iran again.
Guarantee and clearly define the payment of compensation and repair costs for war losses.
End the war on all fronts and across all participating resistance groups across the region.
The international community recognizes and guarantees Iran's sovereign right to exercise jurisdiction over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has conveyed to all well-intentioned intermediaries that a ceasefire is conditional on acceptance of all its conditions. The official stressed: "There will be no negotiations until then," and reiterated that Iran's defensive actions will continue until the above conditions are met.
