Britain will publish a review report on political financing regulations expected to ban cryptocurrency donations
According to the British "Guardian" report, the British government will officially release a review of British political financing regulations today, including measures to strengthen the prevention of foreign funds (including cryptocurrencies) interfering in democracy. Previously, Nathan Gill, former Welsh leader of the British Reform Party, was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison for accepting bribes in cryptocurrencies. The core content of the report is expected to include banning political parties from accepting cryptocurrency donations on the grounds that cryptocurrencies are anonymous and difficult to track and could be used by other countries to circumvent existing rules and interfere with British elections. The British Labor government plans to incorporate the review results into the upcoming Election and Democracy Bill to comprehensively tighten the regulation of political donations.
