Lagarde: ECB is ready to raise interest rates at meeting

European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said that if the inflationary shock triggered by the war in Iran gets out of control, the European Central Bank may raise interest rates as early as April.<br /> Lagarde stressed that it was "too early" to make any decision on interest rates because policymakers still needed to assess the nature, scale and sustainability of the sharp rise in expected inflation caused by rising energy prices.
