On April 4, the Financial Services Agency of Japan officially announced the "Working Guidelines on Strengthening Cybersecurity for Cryptographic Asset Trading Business" for virtual currency dealers and other institutions on April 3. This policy is formulated based on 18 feedbacks received during the public solicitation period from February to March 2026, and makes protecting investors 'assets the top priority. In terms of specific measures, the policy aims to improve the overall level of security through three levels: "independent prevention" by each trader,"mutual assistance and cooperation" by industry self-regulatory organizations, and "public support" by regulatory authorities. At present, criminals 'attack methods are becoming increasingly covert, not only targeting theft of private keys (mnemonics, etc.), but also frequently using social engineering attacks and invading third-party outsourcing organizations. In this regard, the policy focuses on requiring relevant institutions to strengthen their systematic response capabilities.
