Australia pension fund Hostplus plans to provide cryptocurrency investment options to its members

According to Bloomberg, Hostplus, one of Australia's largest pension funds, is considering offering cryptocurrency investment options to its members. The fund manages more than A$150 billion in assets and plans to provide Bitcoin and other digital assets through the Choiceplus investment option. Choiceplus allows members to independently manage their retirement savings portfolios, and assets under this option currently account for approximately 1% of the total fund size. Chief Investment Officer Sam Sicilia said that some members have demand for crypto assets, and related products can be launched as early as the next fiscal year, but they need to obtain regulatory approval. They are still in the design stage, and issues such as consumer protection still need to be resolved.
