According to CoinDesk, the Solana Foundation released a report "Privacy on Solana: A Comprehensive Approach to Modern Enterprises", proposing that enterprise-level adoption requires flexible privacy controls and positions privacy as a customizable feature rather than a trade-off. The report believes that the next stage of encryption adoption will depend more on letting companies control what and what information is disclosed, rather than relying solely on transparency. The Solana Foundation proposes that privacy covers four different models: pseudonymization, confidentiality, anonymity and a full privacy system. Anonymization hides identity while the transaction data is visible; confidentiality allows participants to be known but encrypts sensitive information; anonymity hides the identity of participants but the transaction data is visible; full privacy systems simultaneously block identity and transaction data through technologies such as zero-knowledge proof and multi-party computability. The report emphasizes that there is no single privacy model that applies to all scenarios, and companies can mix different tools according to their needs. The report points out that Solana's high throughput and low latency allow advanced privacy technology to run at close to network speeds, making it possible for application scenarios such as encrypting order books or private credit risk calculations. The Solana Foundation has also proposed mechanisms such as "audit keys" that allow designated parties to decrypt transactions when needed, allowing privacy and supervision to coexist.
