Josh Stark, a core member of the Ethereum Foundation, will leave his post and has led many major upgrades such as TheMerge
According to TheBlock, Josh Stark, a core figure in the Ethereum Foundation (EF), announced his resignation. He has served for five years and will officially step down at the end of the month. Stark joined the Ethereum Foundation in 2019. He initially worked on the special projects team and later rose to the leadership level. He has worked with EF Chairman Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, and co-executive directors Hsiao-WeiWang, Bastian Aue and other senior executives. He is one of the most distinctive members of the foundation and has led many major developments in Ethereum, including the "TheMerge" upgrade from proof of workload to proof of equity, and subsequent upgrades such as Dencun, Fusaka, and Pectra. During the foundation's top management adjustment last year, he was appointed as the "co-manager" of the EF board of directors and recently became the co-chairman of the "Trillion-Dollar Security" program. Last month, Stark co-wrote an Ethereum strategy blog post with Josh Rudolf and Julian Ma, explaining Ethereum's latest expansion direction and its relationship to the Layer2 ecosystem. "I haven't planned my future yet. I just want to rest and spend time with my family and friends," Stark said. This departure comes against the backdrop of the Ethereum Foundation's ongoing transformation. Last year, the foundation underwent major leadership changes, and has since refocused its strategic focus on the expansion of the Ethereum main network and core cypherpunk values; Tomasz K.Stańczak also resigned as a co-executive director at the end of February this year, serving less than a year. On the same day, TrentVanEpps also announced that it would leave EF and devote full-time to ProtocolGuild, the independent funding organization it founded for Ethereum core developers.
