Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin said in an interview with CoinDesk that AI and encryption technology are accelerating the integration or may become the next turning point in the industry. However, if the artificial intelligence infrastructure is controlled by a few large technology companies, it will pose a systemic risk to the industry. Lubin pointed out that the future economy will be "machine-driven". Autonomous or semi-autonomous AIAgents can complete transactions, collaboration and verification on the blockchain network, and the cryptographic network will become its underlying settlement foundation. He believes that blockchain and cryptography mechanisms are crucial to building a trusted environment in which "machines supervise each other" to avoid the power imbalance caused by centralized AI. At the product level, Lubin revealed that MetaMask is evolving into a "new digital bank with user-hosted" and will combine AIAgent in the future to automatically manage assets and execute transactions for users to form a "personal financial operating system." On the ecological level, he believes that companies will adopt more "enterprise chains" to meet performance and control needs, but emphasized that asset issuance should still give priority to Ethereum's main network to ensure long-term security and credibility. Regarding stablecoins and asset tokenization, Lubin said that the current model still relies on centralized issuers, and will gradually transition to a more decentralized mortgage system in the future to achieve a more native crypto financial structure. In addition, he is relatively cautiously optimistic about the risks of quantum computing, believing that this issue is a long-term challenge and has been incorporated into the evolution path of Ethereum technology.
