AaveDAO advances V4 upgrade into community discussion stage

AaveDAO has voted on the AaveRequest for Comment (ARFC) proposal to officially launch the community discussion process for AaveV4 deployment. The proposal received 100% support on the governance platform, marking a critical step towards a new round of major upgrades to the agreement. ARFC is a non-binding phase that aims to collect community feedback and optimize the solution. Subsequently, it will enter the formal on-chain AaveImprovement Proposal (AIP) voting and main online launch process. The AaveV4 is expected to be deployed this year. This upgrade will introduce a new HubandSpoke architecture, integrate liquidity through a unified LiquidityHub, and use multiple Spoke modules to define different lending rules, risk parameters and mortgage strategies, thereby improving capital efficiency and achieving more refined risk isolation. In addition, V4 will also solve the problem of liquidity fragmentation in existing agreements, support a richer market structure, strengthen the integration of native stablecoin GHO, and upgrade the clearing mechanism. Aave said the architecture will allow the agreement to evolve from a single lending model to a more flexible on-chain financial infrastructure, improving liquidity depth and risk pricing capabilities.
