On April 24, the U.S. State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs announced that it would provide up to US$4 million under the Transnational Organized Crime Reward Program to solicit clues that led to the arrest of DarenLi. He assisted various fraud centers in Southeast Asia to launder his proceeds. According to court documents, DarenLi launder funds obtained from victims through cryptocurrency fraud and related fraud, instructed accomplices to open U.S. bank accounts in the name of shell companies, and monitored the interstate and international wire transfers of victim funds. At least $73.6 million of victim funds were directly deposited into bank accounts related to him and his accomplices, including at least $59.8 million from U.S. shell companies that launder proceeds from defrauding victims.
