Developers release EIP-8182 proposal to introduce privacy transfers into the Ethereum protocol layer

Community developer Tom Lehman has released a draft EIP-8182, which plans to make private transfers a native feature of the Ethereum protocol. The solution includes deploying a shared shielding pool with fixed addresses and precompilation of ZK certificate verification to achieve a unified anonymous set; upgrading through hard fork, there is no administrator key or governance token, and using Ethereum's existing trust model. The design supports fully private transfers within the pool and is compatible with existing wallet and address systems. It aims to solve the problems of privacy application fragmentation and trust dependence, and is still in the Draft stage.
