According to TheBlock, Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House Presidential Advisory Council on Digital Assets, announced at the Bitcoin 2026 conference that a major announcement will be made on Trump's strategic Bitcoin reserves in the coming weeks. Witt said that since Trump signed an executive order to establish a strategic bitcoin reserve last year, the team has been studying mechanisms and legal interpretations to ensure that digital assets (especially bitcoin) on government balance sheets are properly protected and consolidated. At the same time, lawmakers are pushing to legalize Trump's executive actions. The BITCOIN bill reintroduced by Senator Cynthia Lummis and Rep. Nick Begich, which has been renamed the U.S. Reserve Modernization Act, includes a "budget-neutral strategy" to acquire 1 million bitcoins over five years.
