Iranian source: Iran still deeply mistrust of the United States

On May 1, it was unclear whether Iran's latest offer would be enough to bring the two sides back to the negotiating table. An Iranian source said Tehran may consider restarting negotiations if the United States lifts its blockade of Iranian ports and Iran fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz. The United States has made clear that Iran should allow any ship to pass through the strait unconditionally; it is unclear whether Iran's latest offer makes that concession. The source said that Iran still expresses deep distrust of the United States and does not understand why the United States gave up dialogue during the last round of Pakistan negotiations.（CNN）
