On May 2, Apple raised the starting price of its Mac Mini computer from $599 to $799 in response to tight inventory and chip supply driven by artificial intelligence demand. The company actually achieved price increases by eliminating entry configurations. The previous entry model was equipped with an M4 chip and 256 GB of storage. Today, the starting version is still the same chip, but the storage has been increased to 512 GB. The starting price of the M4 Pro model remains unchanged at $1399. Since the $599 configuration is sold out at most points of sale, the configuration is no longer for sale. It still takes weeks or months for other configured items to ship from Apple's online store, and supply in Apple's retail stores is limited.
