JPMorgan Chase: Strategy's Bitcoin purchases may reach US$30 billion this year
Michael Saylor's Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) continues to accelerate its holdings of Bitcoin this year. Analysts at JPMorgan said that if the current pace continues, its full-year bitcoin purchases may reach approximately US$30 billion. So far, Strategy has increased its holdings of 145,834 bitcoins during the year, worth approximately US$11 billion. The analysis pointed out that Strategy's large purchases occurred when Bitcoin was below its average cost of approximately US$75,000, reflecting a more "opportunistic" allocation strategy. At the current rate, Strategy's bitcoin purchases throughout 2026 may be significantly higher than the approximately US$22 billion level in 2024 and 2025. Analysts said the company's renewed acceleration of buying since April suggests that its strategy is relying more on market conditions and the availability of financing. At the same time, Strategy shares continue to trade at its net asset value (NAV) at a premium of approximately 26%, providing favorable conditions for it to continue to purchase Bitcoin through equity and debt financing. The company currently holds approximately 818,334 BTC units, with a total value of more than US$65 billion.
