Arbitrum DAO votes to release $70 million in ETH but court orders temporary freeze on transfers
The Arbitrum DAO voted with a support rating of 90.96%(182.2 million votes) and decided to release the previously frozen 30,765.6 ETH (approximately US$70 million) to support the DeFiUnited program to make up for the US$292 million vulnerability damage suffered by KelpDAO last month. The attack was launched by a suspected North Korean Lazarus hacker group. The attacker used the OFT cross-chain bridge single verifier configuration vulnerability supported by LayerZero to steal 116,500 rsETH and transfer most of the assets to Aave as collateral, resulting in approximately US$190 million in bad debts. DeFiUnited has received multiple donations, including 30,000 ETH loans from Consensus and Joseph Lubin, 30,000 ETH loans from Mantle and 5000 ETH from LayerZero.
