US media: US considers long-term stationing troops in Israeli-occupied areas
On May 10, the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency (IRNA) quoted Israeli media "Israel Today" that after the United States and Israel jointly launched military operations against Iran, the United States was considering establishing a long-term military presence in the Israeli-occupied territories. Given the close cooperation between the Israeli army and the U.S. military, Israeli officials believe the U.S. is considering relocating troops stationed in other countries in the region to Israel, or at least retaining a large number of troops for a long time. A senior Israeli official said: "There are U.S. troops here and they will not leave in the near or even distant future. They have realized that Israel is a convenient fortress of action-relatively far from the main threat and well protected by air defense systems." (East News Agency)
