Softbank plans to produce large-scale batteries for artificial intelligence data centers
On May 11, SoftBank Group's mobile business unit said it plans to launch large-scale battery cell manufacturing at its factory in Sakai City, Osaka to meet the growing power demand for artificial intelligence services. SoftBank said in a statement on Monday that it will establish cooperation with South Korea's CosmosLab and DeltaXCo. to achieve mass production starting in the fiscal year starting in April next year. Softbank said the move aims to achieve an energy storage system with an annual output of 1 gigawatt hours; data shows that this will make it one of Japan's largest energy storage production facilities.
