U.S. judge considers Anthropic's $1.5 billion settlement in writers 'lawsuit
On Thursday, May 15, local time, a U.S. federal judge asked lawyers to provide more information on several points in a $1.5 billion settlement reached between artificial intelligence company Anthropic and the authors who accused it of abusing its book to train AI chat robot Claude. U.S. District Judge Aracelli Martinez-Holkin did not give final approval at a hearing in San Francisco, but instead asked for more details on issues including attorney fees and payments to lead plaintiffs. The case is the largest known copyright settlement in the United States. (East News Agency)
