Iran-related crypto capital flows spark compliance controversy Tron and BNBChain are involved in political and sanctions risk discussions
Financial analyst AbdelazizFathi issued a document saying that Iran's largest crypto trading platform Nobitex has processed a total of approximately US$2.3 billion in capital flows through Tron and BNBChain since 2023, most of which occur in stablecoins and cross-chain transfer scenarios. The report pointed out that related traffic on the Tron network alone has exceeded US$2 billion, and BNBChain is approximately US$317 million, and small-scale transfers continue to occur in the context of recent conflicts. Some of these financial flows involve sanctioned entities, drawing attention to the potential role of public chains in cross-border payments and sanctions evasion. The analysis also mentioned that the ecology behind the relevant infrastructure is indirectly related to many encryption companies, making it part of politically sensitive issues. Although Tron and BNBChain both emphasize that they are "decentralized or infrastructure networks" that do not directly control transactions, on-chain transparency makes them passively carry compliance and reputation risks. The incident further strengthened market discussions on the tension between "public chain neutrality" and "realistic compliance boundaries", especially in the context of stablecoins and public ledgers becoming the core paths for cross-border value transfer.
