Optimism main network introduces Stake prioritization mechanism for the first time and launches four-week experiment
According to Optimism official news, the OP main network has adjusted its transaction ranking rules for the first time starting today. In the past many years, the sorter only adopted the "highest priority Gas fee priority" mechanism, but now a new priority sorting option based on pledge is added. The experiment will last for four weeks (ending June 23) and was approved by Optimism's governance body earlier this month, with optional participation for users. The participation condition is to pledge no less than 100,000 OPs to the PolicyEngineStaking contract. The experiment is advanced in two stages: the first stage (week 1) uses FIFO first-in-first-out sorting, and the pledge amount exceeds the minimum threshold and does not affect the priority; the second stage (weeks 2-4) is changed to a priority Gas multiplier mechanism based on the pledge duration., the longer the pledge time, the higher the priority. The transaction ranking rules for users who did not participate in the experiment remain unchanged, and the PGA mechanism operates as usual.
