Sui's main network resumed operation and confirmed that both outages originated from the same software defect
According to the official announcement of SuiNetwork, the Sui main network has resumed normal operation, and transaction processing and network activities have resumed. Officials disclosed that the two network outages that occurred this time and the day before were related to the interaction problem between the "AddressBalances" function introduced in the 1.72 upgrade and Gas billing logic. Sui's core team said the remediation plan deployed yesterday was only a temporary measure designed to quickly restore network operations, but it carried a known and low-probability risk of downtime. Today's network triggered a variant of this known problem, causing the main network to be suspended again. At present, the verifier has completed the deployment of long-term repair plans. Officials say that the known problems caused by the original vulnerability have been completely solved, and the network has returned to normal operation. The Sui team said that a more detailed accident review report will be released in the future to explain the cause of the failure and the repair process.
