GravityBridge database stolen $5.4 million due to suspected leakage of critical information

On May 31, according to blockchain security researchers, the cross-chain protocol GravityBridge was stolen early on Saturday. Researchers suspect that the bridging contract key was leaked, rather than a flaw in the protocol code. The attackers stole USDC, Ethereum, TEDA and PAXG tokens, and then launder some of them through ChangeNow and Binance. PeckShield said the attackers still held approximately 2100 ETH worth approximately $4.23 million. GravityBridge admitted an "unfortunate incident" and suspended the bridge's operations while investigating the attack.
