PavelDurov: TON native token is renamed Gram blockchain name remains unchanged

Telegram founder PavelDurov announced in a post on his personal channel that TON Ecosystem has announced the launch of a brand upgrade plan, and its native token name will be renamed from TON to Gram. The team said that "Gram" is the name for the native currency in the original white paper of the TON project. This name change is aimed at returning to the original intention of the project and opening a new stage of ecological development.
According to the announcement, this brand conversion is expected to be gradually completed in about three weeks. During the transition period, relevant infrastructure, wallets and ecological applications will gradually update the token names.
TON emphasized that this adjustment only involves the brand name of the native token, and the TON blockchain network itself will continue to use the name "TON (The OpenNetwork)" and will not be affected.
Officials said that restoring native tokens to Gram is the fourth step in the seven-step "MakeTONGreat Again" strategy, and more ecological development plans and upgrade measures will be announced in the future.
