Underwriters of SpaceX's roughly $75 billion initial public offering have been told not to accept subscription orders from investors in mainland China and Hong Kong because of U.S. restrictions on key technology exports, Bloomberg reported. The lead underwriting bank responsible for the transaction has further notified other banks in the underwriting syndicate that customers from mainland China and Hong Kong, including private banking customers, are not allowed to participate in the order.<br /> The report said that the move was mainly due to regulatory and compliance risk considerations, and the relevant arrangements have not been publicly disclosed.
