Trump: Want to see interest rates cut but will hand over decision-making power to Walsh

On June 6, U.S. President Trump delivered a speech on Air Force One today. He said he would like to see interest rates cut, but he would hand over the decision-making power of interest rates to Federal Reserve Chairman Walsh. Trump mentioned that the country is in good shape and the market should rise. He also stressed that he did not mind that Walsh would cut interest rates and would leave the decision to cut interest rates at the October meeting to Walsh. When asked about Iran and oil prices, Trump said that the United States has achieved great success on the Iran issue and that Iran currently does not have the conditions to possess nuclear weapons. Regarding oil prices, he said the government has multiple options. In addition, Trump also revealed that meetings with artificial intelligence companies have been arranged and that they may travel to the White House next week.
