Heima Community Votes to "Destroy 16.5 Million HEI Tokens" Proposal
The Heima community, a cross-chain abstraction layer project, voted to approve the proposal to "destroy 16.5 million HEI tokens." The proposal includes the proposed destruction of 16.5 million HEIs from the ecological allocation quota. These include 12.05 million locked HEI and 4.45 million unlocked but unused HEI tokens. The fund was originally reserved for Polkadot's parallel chain auction, but as Polkadot moves from parallel chain auction to Coretime sales, Heima said it can now pay for the required DOT costs through the DOT treasury reserved by the team. In addition, officials said the destruction will not occur immediately after the referendum, but will be carried out in 288,000 blocks after the referendum is passed. Based on block time, it is expected to take approximately 40 to 60 days from today.
