Multiple U.S. attorneys general jointly investigate OpenAI
On June 13, according to people familiar with the matter, attorneys general of several states in the United States had jointly launched investigations into OpenAI. A number of people familiar with the matter said that the artificial intelligence company received a wide-ranging subpoena on Friday, requiring it to submit various operational and user impact-related documents, covering advertising business, user activity and retention, consumer and health data management, related business for minors and the elderly, deep learning models, model flattery issues, and the company's internal rules and regulations. An OpenAI spokesperson said in a statement: "Artificial intelligence is an emerging and powerful technology, and we are always committed to allowing the public to safely enjoy the technological dividends in a compliant and secure manner. We attach importance to the concerns raised by state attorneys general and will actively cooperate with relevant departments in carrying out their work." This month, the company has secretly filed initial public offering documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. (Sina Finance)
