Tokenized Pokémon card transactions surged in May, sales on Solana and other chains reached US$230 million
According to Decrypt, the transaction volume of tokenized Pokémon cards on encryption platforms has grown rapidly. Driven by the "twist" mechanism, it maps physical cards to NFT or digital certificates, forming a trading experience similar to "opening boxes/drawing cards". According to data disclosed by Messari, in May, approximately US$230 million in transaction volume was achieved on seven blockchains including Solana, Polygon, Base, and BNB, an increase of about 10 times compared with a year ago. In addition, the global convertible card market has reached US$15.8 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow to US$23.5 billion in 2030. The overall market value of NFT is currently approximately US$2.4 billion, indicating that collectibles on the chain are still in the early stage of penetration.
