On June 15, Fox (FOXA.US) will acquire streaming video platform Roku(ROKU.US) through a cash and stock price of US$160 per share. The transaction values Roku's corporate value at approximately US$22 billion. The two companies said in a statement on Monday that the deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027 and will combine Fox's sports, news and entertainment content resources with the ROKU platform, which has more than 100 million subscribers. According to the statement, Fox has received a fully committed US$12 billion bridge financing from Morgan Stanley's senior financing arm to support the acquisition. Roku's streaming media devices allow consumers to watch content from apps such as Netflix and HBOMax on TV, allowing any TV to become a smart TV. Most of Roku's revenue comes from digital advertising sales and streaming service distribution, with hardware device sales accounting for only a small portion of revenue. Last year, its platform business achieved revenue of US$4.1 billion, accounting for 87.5% of the company's total revenue. Fox (FOXA.US) fell 14% to $56.6 before the market, and Roku(ROKU.US) rose more than 2% to $146.84 before the market.
