Scholar: Iran follows Trump's example to adopt "weekend strategy"

On June 21, Abdullah Banndar Al-Eltaibi, a professor at the University of Qatar, said that Iran was adopting a "weekend strategy." He said: "This is a practice that Trump has used to use to keep the market from responding over the weekend. As a result, they (Iran) are actually exerting maximum pressure on Trump and the mediators, using the Strait of Hormuz as bargaining chip in exchange for Lebanon arrangements. They want all fighting in Lebanon to stop as a condition for restoring passage in the Strait of Hormuz."
