Thailand's Ministry of Interior, together with provincial power bureaus, police and local administrative officials, launched a joint law enforcement operation in five northeastern provinces: Ubon, Asathom, Anachanen, Riit and Maha Sarakhan on Saturday, inspecting a total of 14 locations. A total of 315 digital currency mining equipment were confiscated in the operation. Investigators found that the people involved in the case supplied power to the mining machines by tampering with electricity meters and illegally connecting electricity. The total damage is estimated to be 40.38 million baht (approximately US$1.227 million), including 5.38 million baht in electricity violation fines and approximately 35 million baht in unpaid electricity bills. At present, relevant evidence has been collected, and the authorities have filed a lawsuit against the persons involved in the case.
