UpscaleAI completed US$190 million in financing at a US$2 billion valuation. PremjiInvest led Nvidia and others to participate in the investment
AI infrastructure startup UpscaleAI announced that it has completed a new round of financing of US$190 million. Investors include Nvidia and SalesforceVentures. After this round of financing, the company's valuation reached US$2 billion. This round of financing is part of its Series A extension, bringing the cumulative financing scale of UpscaleAI to US$500 million. It was led by PremjiInvest, with new investors such as Temasek and Seligman Ventures participating, and old shareholders such as Maverick Silicon, Mayfield, Prosperity7Ventures, StepStone Group and TigerGlobal continuing to follow. UpscaleAI focuses on the construction of network infrastructure for large-scale AI clusters, trying to solve the "computing power interconnection bottleneck" problem in AI training and reasoning. The company is developing a full-stack AI network architecture covering chips, systems and software, with the goal of building an open standard network interconnection solution suitable for large-scale AI workloads. The company said that as the scale of AI clusters continues to expand, network performance is becoming a key limiting factor affecting GPU utilization and training efficiency. Inefficient interconnection will directly lead to waste of computing power and increased training costs. At present, UpscaleAI has cooperated with a number of ultra-large-scale cloud vendors and "new cloud" infrastructure providers for evaluation and deployment, but has not disclosed specific customer information. Analysts pointed out that AI infrastructure investment is spreading from the model layer to the underlying hardware and network layers, and network interconnection is becoming one of the most watched key infrastructure tracks after GPUs.
