French cryptocurrency platform Paymium receives EU MiCA license from AMF
According to Le Figaro, French cryptocurrency platform Paymium announced that it has obtained an official EU MiCA license issued by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) to continue to provide crypto-asset trading services in the EU after the new regulations come into effect. Founded in 2011, the company claims to be the only platform in France to operate a crypto asset exchange and has more than 230,000 global customers, including individuals and institutions. The report pointed out that MiCA will be fully effective at the end of 2024, and platforms that do not obtain authorization from domestic regulatory authorities before June 30 will be forced to cease business. So far, only about 20 companies have been approved in France, about 50 have not submitted applications, and about 200 companies across Europe have passed certification.
