US media: US government will decide who can use the new version of ChatGPT
On June 27, the Washington Post reported that the U.S. government will review companies that want to use ChatGPT developer OpenAI's latest technology, a major expansion of the Trump administration's supervision of Silicon Valley. OpenAI announced its latest artificial intelligence model, GPT-5.6 (called Sol), in a blog post published on Friday. The article said the government will first approve who can use the new version, while artificial intelligence companies and the government will work together to develop a long-term regulatory plan for the industry. The company made it clear that they are cautious about further federal regulation. OpenAI pointed out: "We believe this government approval process should not become the long-term default model. It denies the best tools to users, developers, enterprises, cybersecurity defenders and global partners who really need them."
