Solana's online chain governance mechanism proposal requires 15% pledge support before voting
SolanaFoundation announced the official launch of SolanaGovernance Proposals (SGP), an online governance mechanism. Verifiers can now submit, support and decide core agreement decisions through SGP. All proposals are made on-chain, adopt a voting mechanism based on pledge weights, and are verified through Merkle proof. Any verifier who has received at least 100,000 SOL commissions can initiate an SGP. Unlike Solana Improvement Documents (SIMD), which focuses on technology and protocol changes, SGP is mainly used to express opinions on ecosystem governance. The proposal must receive at least 15% of the entire network pledge support before it can enter the formal voting stage.
