France's 1.5 million euro encryption fraud case solved, mother and son arrested
According to the "Nice Morning Post" report, after a year-long investigation, police in the French province of Val successfully cracked a cryptocurrency fraud case involving a total amount of 1.5 million euros and arrested a mother and son involved in the case. The two men committed a "RipDeal"(false sales) fraud, falsely claiming that they could acquire a luxury house on their behalf, and tricked a wealthy local couple in Ramatuelle to go to Milan, demanding that the other party pay a transaction guarantee fee of 1.5 million euros in cryptocurrency. During the crime, the suspect used a hidden camera to secretly steal the victim's encrypted account information and private keys, and then transferred all encrypted assets. The police arrested the mother and son in Cavalier and simultaneously seized a property worth 1.9 million euros in the suspect's name. Both suspects have multiple criminal convictions for fraud and will be tried on September 1 and face multiple criminal charges related to organized gang fraud.
