Gate founder Dr. Han: Gate completes MiCA license layout ahead of schedule to push European crypto market towards fair competition
According to CoinDesk, with the official and full effect of the European Union's Cryptographic Asset Market Regulation (MiCA), the European digital asset market has entered a new era of unified supervision. Regarding the impact of MiCA on the industry landscape, Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han said in an interview that Gate began to lay out European compliance several years ago and will complete MiCA and payment institution (PI) license preparations ahead of schedule in 2025. He pointed out that the significance of MiCA is not only to establish a unified regulatory framework, but more importantly, to allow all market participants to stand at the same starting line. "Only when all platforms follow the same rules can the industry truly compete around products, services and user experiences." At the same time, he also said that if unauthorized platforms can continue to provide services to European users, the level playing field will still face challenges, so effective enforcement of supervision is also crucial.<br />
At present, GateEurope has relied on MiCA and PI dual licenses to continue to improve its compliance system, risk management and operational governance capabilities, and continues to deepen its global compliance layout. In addition to Europe, multiple entities under Gate have completed relevant regulatory registrations, license applications or obtained authorizations and approvals in jurisdictions such as Malta, Bahamas, Japan, the United States, Australia and Dubai. They have consolidated the global business foundation through multi-regional regulatory licensing and continue to provide more secure, transparent and efficient digital asset services to users around the world. In the future, Gate will continue to adhere to the parallel development of compliance and innovation, and promote the long-term healthy development of the digital asset industry with better product experience and global service capabilities.
