Meta faces a $1.4 trillion fine charged with violating the rights of minors
Four U.S. states have jointly accused Meta of using addictive algorithms to induce minors and conceal its negative impact on young people's mental health, claiming a claim of up to US$1.4 trillion; 29 states across the United States have filed lawsuits in this regard. At the same time, the European Commission issued a preliminary report under the Digital Services Law, requiring Meta to modify addictive designs such as "automatic play" and "unlimited scrolling", otherwise it will face a huge fine of 6% of global annual income. Meta denied the charges and said it would continue to defend itself. (World Wide Web)
