Houthi militants threaten to attack Saudi targets
On July 14, Yemen's Houthi armed forces posted a video through social media on the evening of July 13 local time, threatening to attack multiple Saudi targets. In the video released by the Houthi armed forces, aerial photos and latitude and longitude coordinates of important facilities such as King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and ports appear, accompanied by the words "Fight Back is Coming." Earlier in the day, the Yemeni capital Sana'a International Airport controlled by Houthi forces was hit by air strikes. The Houthi armed forces accused Saudi Arabia of launching the air strike and vowed to retaliate. The Saudi-backed Ministry of Defense of the Yemeni government said it had airstrikes against Sana'a International Airport to prevent a high-level Houthi delegation from attending the memorial service for Iran's slain supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei from returning home on an Iranian plane that day. The multinational coalition led by Saudi Arabia said that night that its air defense system responded to the ballistic missiles fired by Houthi forces into southern Saudi Arabia.
