Walsh: If the Fed adjusts the balance sheet market, it will receive full warning
On July 14, Federal Reserve Chairman Walsh said that if the Federal Reserve adjusts its balance sheet policy, it will make advance announcements, explanations and public discussions, and give financial markets sufficient preparation time. Washi said at the hearing that his views on the Fed's huge balance sheet problems were well known to the outside world, but he was reluctant to prejudge the decisions to be made by the Fed's newly established balance sheet task force. He pointed out that the balance sheet belongs to the category of monetary policy and emphasized that the Fed should avoid getting involved in the field of fiscal policy. "I assure you that if there is a change in balance sheet policy, we will provide advance notification, explanation and discussion," Walsh said. Both the committee and the financial markets as a whole will receive adequate advance notice before any changes in balance sheet policies occur."
