US Senator Lummis: Encrypting the ethical provisions of the Clarity Act and other contents will still be further discussed
On July 23, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (one of the main negotiators of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act) said that although the text of the bill has been published and is "finally one step closer" to formal passage, many core contents may still be revised, including provisions such as ethics for government officials. In an interview with CoinDesk on Wednesday, Lummis said the Senate Judiciary, Ethics and Intelligence Committees were all involved in drafting the bill. Although the entire legislative process has been "very difficult," the bill is now ready for further feedback. She said: "Now is the time to show everyone the complete bill we will ultimately vote on and hear feedback from the industry that will be regulated and other interested parties." I'm glad we've finally gotten here." Earlier in the day, Lummis released the latest version of the ClarityAct, consolidating bills previously passed by the Senate Banking and Agriculture Committees into one complete text. However, she also pointed out that the version released this time is still unlikely to be the final version. In addition, the bill's conflict-of-interest restrictions (ethical provisions) on government officials participating in crypto-asset activities, as well as some provisions related to combating illegal financial activities, are expected to continue to be discussed and revised this weekend.
